NHS's £ 12.7 milliard Connecting for Health scheme suffered another setback today when it was announced that they had fired Fujitsu – Japanese IT company with a project the main suppliers.

The news will anger critics of Connecting for Health, who has planned the project as too expensive, and four years too late. But the government defended the associated costs of his regime and insisted that Connecting for Health could produce more than £ 1 billion savings in 2014.

Connect To Health is composed of four major projects. These include the provision of a centralized electronic patient records containing information on 50 million patients, an online "choose and book" system that allows people to select and book their own contracts, digital hospital and electronic prescriptions service, and fast networking between NHS organizations, which will connect 30,000 more general practice in England to almost 300 British hospitals.
