what is the best way to record vhs over to dvd?
I bought a dvd/vhs combo to connect to my tv/vhs combo. My plan was to play to vhs in the tv combo while recording it to dvd in the dvd/vhs combo. My son says he doesnt think this will work and/or it will have poor quality. What do you think? Does anyone know of store nationwide (such as circuit city,etc) that might do that kind of thing…transferring vhs to dvd?
Yes, what you describe should work exactly as it does for making a tape copy, but the DVD will be only as good as the tape. It won’t get any better. If the tape looks bad, then so will the DVD. Use high quality cables to connect the audio and video, not the antenna connections. Your son is right on one thing, if you use the antenna connections on 2 VCR’s, it does degrade the quality of the copy more than using the audio and video inputs and outputs.
I seem to remember seeing this service offered at my local Rite-Aid.
