Specifications: The Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973 is a 16-inch laptop that is powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 processor (2.1GHz). It comes with 4GB of RAM (that can be upgraded to 8GB) and a 500GB hard drive. This model runs on Windows Vista (Home premium version). In terms of connectivity, it is wi-fi ready (802.11a/b/g/n), 4 USB ports, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, a HDMI output, a microphone jack and several other standard connectors.

Design: The Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973 weighs at 6.5 pounds and measures at 15.1 x 10.2 x 1.61 inches. It has a very stylish look, complete with a high-gloss black onyx finish (I tested the black one). It has a very sophisticated and expensive overall look. Like many 16-inch laptops, it comes with a full keyboard complete with a number pad. Below the touch pad are two huge click buttons that makes that touch pad really easy to use.

Features & Performance: When you use the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973, the first thing that you will notice is its gorgeous LCD display. It has a 16:9 ratio and 1266 x 768 in resolution. The screen also has an anti- glare feature so there will be no problems viewing even in bright ambient lighting. The powerful Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X5400MHD also adds to your viewing pleasure.

Another feature worth mentioning is its amazing Harman Kardon speakers. I never believed that a laptop could function without external speakers until this model came along. The audio was loud and clear enough that you can use it to watch an entire movie without the need of using external speakers.

All in all, the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973 will make a great laptop, whether you are looking for one for work or play. The great video/audio playback and powerful specs makes it a great all-rounder. The 4GB of RAM (max of 8GB) and 500GB hard drive will satisfy even the most hardcore of laptop users. Despite its powerful specs and good looks, the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973 comes with a very competitive price tag.
